PRPE President's Report - June/July 2011
6/6/11 – PRPE Executive Board/Sit Representative Meeting – I hosted this meeting at my house and the each site rep made a report. In addition, as always we discussed negotiations and grievance issues.
6/9/11 – I attended a site PRPE meeting at Paso Robles High School.
6/11/11 – I registered myself for the CTA President’s Conference in July and myself, Fred Kloepper and Charlie Berry for the CTA Summer Institute (7/31-8/5/11) concerning the new common core standards.
6/14/11 – I met with a high school teacher to go over settlement language concerning his grievance.
6/15/11 – I attended a communications meeting with district representatives and the superintendent.
6/21/11 – I attended the regular school board meeting focused on the 2011-2012 budget.
6/22/11 – I consulted with an involuntarily reassigned teacher.
6/23/11 – I consulted with 2 involuntarily transferred teachers.
6/27/11 – I met with the superintendent to sign the PRJUSD/PRPE MOU on collaboration. I also met with a CFT attorney about several cases.
6/28/11 – I met with the PRPE Negotiations team about the collaboration MOU and other contract issues.
7/11/10 – I met with Greig Welch concerning involuntary transfers, reassignments and CLAD requirements.
7/12/11 – I consulted with two teachers about their 2011-2012 assignments. I attended the PRJUSD school board meeting.
7/14/11 – I met with Greig Welch and a teacher about her 2011-2012 involuntary transfer.
7/15/11 – I consulted with a CFT attorney about grievances and binding arbitration cases.
7/19-22/11 – I attended the annual CTA President’s Conference. I attended presentations by our District G State Council Representative Cynthia Pena, our Channel Islands Service Center Council (CISCC) President Brad Swopes and workshops on evaluation and special education. We were addressed as a group by Governor Jerry Brown, Friday.
7/27/11 – I consulted with the union lawyer about grievances, binding arbitration and the current PERB case.
7/31/11 – 8/5/11 – Fred Kloepper (PRPE Vice-President), Charlie Berry (KK) and I attended the Instructional Professional Development (IPD) strand about the coming national common core standards and assessments at the CTA Summer Institute at UCLA. I also met with our CFT attorney, Jeff Boxer about our ongoing grievances and PERB case on 8/4/11.
