10/1/11 – I prepared a response to the PRJUSD negotiations update and also prepared a draft of an evaluation white paper to explain to the membership why PRPE is taking action through grievances about the district unilateral changes to the evaluation procedure. 

 10/3/11 – I met with the administration and a high school teacher about a parent complaint.

 10/3/11 – We held our regular monthly PRPE Executive Board/Site Representatives meeting.

 10/5/11 – I met with the administration and a high school teacher about a parent complaint.

 10/7/11 – I attended the Tri-County Education Coalition (TCEC) meeting at Santa Ynez High School about truancy and improving school attendance.  As a TCEC director from San Luis Obispo County I invited Pedro Arroyo from the San Luis Obispo County Probation Office to explain the program he is implementing in Paso Robles called Youth in Action.

 10/8/11 – I attended the CTA Channel Islands Service Center Council (CISCC) meeting in Buellton.  The CISCC has representatives from CTA represented school districts in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.  We heard reports from the chapter presidents in those counties as well as from Dean Vogel the president of CTA and Michael Musser a director at large from NEA.

 10/12/11 – I attended a PRPE Negotiations Team meeting. 

 10/13/11 – I met with the administration and a high school teacher about applied discipline.

 10/13/11 – I attended the site PRPE meeting at the high school.

 10/17/11 – I prepared and responded to the district communication about ongoing negotiations.

 10/18/11 – I met with a teacher about a problem with her supervisor.  I attended the School Board Study session on Achievement data and an update on the district strategic plan as well as an after school activities grant at 3 elementary schools.

 10/20/11 – I attended a San Luis Obispo County Education Roundtable meeting to hear the public education positions of the declared candidate for the New Coastal State Senate District, Bill Monning

 10/21/11 – I attended the CFT Area Council meeting in San Luis Obispo.  We discussed  Obama’s Jobs Bill, the November 2012 election and Teacher Evaluation.

 10/24/11 – I met with a teacher about a complaint.

 10/26/11 – I met with the high school principal about a complaint.

 10/27/11- I attended a full day Level 4 Mediation meeting concerning the ongoing involuntary transfer/reassignment grievance.

 10/28/11 -  I met with the PRHS principal and a teacher about a complaint.

 10/31/11 -  I met with the PRHS Rep about issues with two teachers.
