Celebrating Soldiarity9-1-08
Last year PRPE came together in a display of solidarity that provided much needed leverage at the negotiations table, and demonstrated to district administration and the school board our willingness and ability to organize and mobilize to stop the erosion of teacher salaries. |

Rebuttal to Fiscal Policy RecommendationsPaso Robles Public Schools May18, 2007 TO: Members of the Board FROM: Patrick Sayne SUBJECT: Fiscal Policy Recommendations Since February, the Fiscal Policy Committee has spent numerous hours examining every aspect of the district’s budget. I’d like to express my appreciation to the committee, board members, parents, teachers, classified employees and administrators for their dedication and hard work. As I reviewed these recommendations, it only underscored, for me, the fact that we are operating about as efficiently as it is possible to do thus leaving little flexibility when it comes to additional program needs. As a result of that limited flexibility I asked this committee to tie proposed increases to cuts in some other section of the budget. While they did not actually do that, they did make recommendations for reductions and separate recommendations for position or programmatic increases. Fiscal Policy PRPE Minority Report5/15/07 Fiscal Policy PRPE Minority Report On May 9, 2007 the Fiscal Policy Team met for its final session. For the first time since I have been a member we voted on a list of restorations and augmentations, but we also voted on a list of cuts and savings. This represents a major positive shift in the committee’s focus and was one of the major recommendations of the PRPE Fiscal Policy Minority Report from last year.
